• In this method, what you need do is go to “Settings” of your Android phone.
• Scroll down to the Apps or Application Manager and then scroll to Messenger.
• Tap on it and clear data.

When you have done this, you will notice that you have been logged off your Facebook Messenger when you go to the messenger app and try to login.

Note: If you have your “Settings” app open, you will have to close it first and get rid of it from your recent apps list before you initiate this method of Facebook messenger logout, otherwise this method will not be effective.

Facebook Messenger Logout On Android Using Facebook Mobile App

You can follow this guide for Facebook messenger logout with your Android Facebook app. To do this, tap on the menu or more button on the top right of your Facebook app; this is the usual three horizontal lines you see there.

Go to Account Settings and to Security and Login. You will see section called “Where you’re logged In”, just select the messenger session and tap “Log Out”

How to Logout Facebook Messenger On iOS

For iOS device users, you can logout your Facebook messenger by following the steps outline below;

If you are iOS device user, you cannot be able to logout your Facebook messenger using the method for Android despite you can access your iOS iPhone Settings and select Messenger from list of apps, you cannot still play around it to clear Messenger data as to logout.

Thus, if you are using Messenger and not Facebook app, you are going to need to download Facebook app for iOS first, and then go through the steps below;

1. Open the Facebook app on your device and login Facebook account corresponding to the account on the messenger you want to logout.

2. The tap menu option (the three lines) at the top right corner of your Facebook app.

3. Scroll down and tap “Settings” and then go to “Account Settings”.

4. Tap on “Security and Login”.

5. Under the “Where you’re logged In”, you will see list of where you are logged in, including the device where you want to logout the messenger.

6. Tap the three dots to the left of the device and messenger listing, and tap “Log Out”. This device will disappear from the list of devices you are logged in. Now check your messenger to confirm that your account has been logged out.

Facebook Messenger Logout On Facebook Website

If you do not have the Facebook mobile app, or do not want to go through the stress using the mobile device and the app, you can follow the steps below to logout Facebook Messenger on the Facebook website;

1. Go to facebook.com and login your Facebook account; This has to be the account which Messenger you want to logout.

2. Click the down arrow at the top right corner of the page and select “Settings” from the list of dropdown menu.

3. From the sidebar menu, click “Security and Login”.

4. Under the section label “Where You’re logged In”, look for the name of your device, and the messenger label beneath it.

5. Click the three dots to the left of the device + Messenger listing and then click “Log Out”. This will get the listing disappeared and you can go to your Facebook messenger app to confirm you have been logged out of your messenger.
