How to Edit Your Facebook Shortcuts : We all spends a lot of time in browsing Facebook daily right from sleeping on bed in the morning to going to bed at night. What if we can *save* some time while wasting time on Facebook, using some Keyboard shortcuts keys? 😉 Yes, that will be great, shortcut keys not only helps you to browse Facebook quickly but they also save your internet bandwidth as you don’t need to visit more pages to access a particular page. So, here are the Facebook Keyboard shortcuts keys for accessing news feed, different Facebook pages and Web Messenger.

Use the Below combination of keys according to your browser and system followed by the access key number, replace # with the access key listed below.

  • Internet Explorer for PC: Alt + #, then Enter
  • Firefox for PC: Shift + Alt + #
  • Chrome for PC: Alt + #
  • Firefox for Mac: Ctrl + Opt + #
  • Safari for Mac: Ctrl + Opt + #
  • Chrome for Mac: Ctrl + Opt + #

Facebook Access Keys | How to Edit Your Facebook Shortcuts

Use the below access keys with the above combination keys to make a shortcut. For example I want to open my timeline on my Firefox for mac, so i will use Ctrl + Opt + 2 as access key 2 is assigned for the timeline.

0 —> Help Center

1 —> Homepage

2 —> Timeline

3 —> Friends

4 —> Inbox

5 —> Notifications

6 —> Settings

7 —> Activity Log

8 —> Official Facebook Page

9 —> Facebook Terms and Policies

Remove Tabs by Long-Pressing

The easiest way to remove a tab from the Shortcuts Bar is by long-pressing on one of the icons. Start by opening the Facebook app on your phone or tablet. Apple’s built-in Spotlight Search is the easiest way to locate the app on iPhone or iPad. Swipe open the app drawer on your Android device to find the Facebook app.

Next, decide which icon(s) you want to remove from your Shortcuts Bar. iPhone and iPad owners will see the bar at the bottom of the interface, while Android users will see it at the top. From left to right, you can select Friend Requests, Watch, and Marketplace.

Once you’ve decided which tab to remove, long-press on the icon. A pop-up menu will appear.

For Web Messenger: CTRL + g – Search conversations

  1. CTRL + q – Show/hide keyboard shortcuts
  2. CTRL + Delete – Archive/unarchive conversation
  3. CTRL + j – Mark as spam
  4. CTRL + m – Start a new message
  5. CTRL + i – Go to Inbox
  6. CTRL + u – Go to Other
