1. Open the WhatsApp app on your phone

2. Tap the menu icon

3. Go to Settings, then Account, then Privacy, then select Blocked Contacts

4. Tap the add contact icon – a small icon the shape of a person with a plus sign on the left

5. A list will appear. Choose the contact you wish to block

Apple User Follow This Steps To Block A Contact

i. Open the WhatsApp app on your phone

ii. If you have a chat open, navigate back to the main Chats screen

iii. Select the Settings icon at the bottom right of the screen, then Account, then Privacy, then Blocked

iv. Tap Add New and choose the contact you wish to block

Windows Phone User Follow This Steps To Block A Contact

1. Open the WhatsApp app on your phone

2. Select More (the three dot icon), then Settings, then Contacts, then Blocked contacts

3. Select the plus icon at the bottom of the screen

4. Select the contact you wish to block

Note: Messages, calls and status updates sent by a blocked contact won’t show up on your phone and will never be delivered to you.

Blocking a contact won’t remove them from your contacts list, nor will it remove you from the list on the contact’s phone. To delete a contact, you must delete the contact from your phone’s address book.
